A Bundle of Joy – Untold Tales of Motherhood and Oppression​

Using art as a way to explode the myths around motherhood to reach out to isolated London mothers. The work is searing indictment of the way society treats mothers explores how the reality of women's experiences clashes with false societal messages of 'perfection' and domestic bliss.

Women met daily to discuss the extent to which their personal experiences and feelings about motherhood fit with those reflected in the exhibition.

Womyn's Gathering: The enemy Within

France - July 2016

This workshop investigated how heterosexuality and intercourse damage women and particularly discussing and  exploring the links between physical and mental colonisation of women by men in a world increasingly saturated by violent pornography.

This workshop was aimed at women who have experienced or are still experiencing intercourse.

Womyn's Gathering: Stronger together - Building bridges and overcoming false division between women

Aworkshop investigating the nature of Compulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Oppression, focuses on our shared experiences of oppression and aiming to discuss false divisions between women.

Lesbian History Group: Lesbian Ethics

London - June 2016

A talk about Lesbian Feminist Ethics by the Lesbian History Group, followed by questions and discussion. 

The concept of lesbian ethics aims to address the way lesbian feminists behave towards each other in personal and political relationships and argued that we did not have to imitate heterosexual relationships. This session will include an introduction to lesbian ethics, Equality versus BDSM in lesbian sexual relationships, lesbian friendships and developing lesbian feminist  community, Adrienne Rich on 'Women and Honour,' and building lesbian feminist community today in the face of a backlash against political lesbianism.

 

Lesbian History Group: Lesbian Feminism, motherhood and children

London - January 2016

Discussion on the struggles lesbians had with the patriarchal state and fathers rights movements in order to be able to raise children; lesbians choosing to have children without fathers through self-insemination or other means; lesbians raising children collectively and the debates around boy children and the lesbian ‘baby boom.’ that was happening at the time, as well as what it means for lesbian feminist mothers raising children

today.

Discussion on the influence of Andrea Dworkin in relation to academia, feminist activism, service provision for women who have experienced male violence, heterosexuality and political lesbianism.
